Cut down on the number of bouquets by limiting the number of attendants.
Choose inexpensive, smaller and elegant bouquets for bride and bridesmaids.
Use seasonal flowers instead of expensive exotic flowers that may need to be ordered.
Decorate using greenery such as trees and garlands of ivy. These can fill large areas with a dramatic effect for little money. Use ferns with delicate sprigs of baby’s breath.
Balloons can be used to add color. They are inexpensive and look nice in a large room with tall ceilings.
Consider having your ceremony and/or reception in a beautiful garden.
Don’t plan your wedding around Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day when flowers are more expensive. However, at Christmas time many reception venues will already be decorated for the holiday season.
If your ceremony and reception are at the same location, use the same floral arrangements for both. Use floral arrangements for the ceremony on the buffet tables or head tables. Bouquets can be used on the guest book table or on the cake. Use table floral arrangements to line the aisle or group together on each side of the altar.
